My Blue Belt Test

After more than a year of training in Gracie Jiu Jitsu with a private instructor, I am proud to announce that I have taken and passed my test for my Blue Belt. The test consisted of 5 different parts including: Mount, Guard, Side Mount and Standing Techniques, along with a Freestyle Rolling session. In all I was graded in correctly performing over 70 techniques from the varioius positions.
At the end, I had to perform a 5 minute Freestyle Rolling session, where I had to correctly demonstrate the previously learned techniques in action. I can truely say that in all the Martial Arts tests that I have take, this was among the most difficult and critical. While I did pass, it was not with flying colors, and the instructor was extremely critical of my techniques, pointing out my flaws so that I could correct them moving foward in my training. Now on to my next phase of training as I work towards my first blue belt stripe.
